The Marathon Plus Tour Perf 28” (47-622) Smart DG from Schwalbe is the most puncture-proof pneumatic tyre and can rightly call itself an unpuncturable tyre. The 5 mm thick SmartGuard panel has a clear advantage over all imitation products in terms of rolling resistance. Two RaceGuard panels further increase puncture protection. With its distinctive trekking tread, this tyre is at home on all asphalt roads and nature trails, whether in everyday use or on tour.
The SmartGuard is made from recycled rubber from old latex products. In addition, the “anti-ageing” sidewall endures the typical overloads caused by insufficient air pressure for much longer before it develops ugly cracks. Note:
- A puncture can never be completely ruled out. However, with the Marathon Plus bike tyre you are well protected against typical puncture hazards, such as broken glass or debris.
- For all Marathon Plus tyres, be sure to use a pressure gauge to set the air pressure. Due to their special construction, a pressure test using your thumb is not sufficient.
